Our compostable bags might look and feel like conventional plastic but they aren't. Unlike plastic, their chemical composition means that they will break down into compost (without any micro-plastics or toxic by-products).
How to bin the bag.
Bags are designed to be composted. Please dispose of them in your compost bin so they can be taken to industrial composting facilities.
The composting process.
Heat, humidity, oxygen, and microorganisms cause the bags to break down. The material is certified under OK Compost EN13432 as compostable which means it will break down by 50% in 12 weeks and completely biodegrade in 6 months.

Use.
Use every morning after cleansing and before moisturizing. Just twist the top of the capsule, squeeze out the serum, and apply to your face with a gentle massage. Each capsule is the right amount for a single application.

Even if you just get shiny on your T-zone (forehead, nose and cheeks), you can use Glow Don’t Shine all over your face. It also contains ingredients that help lock in moisture and condition the skin, helping your skin stay healthy and look glowy.
* Studies were based on the results of using Glow Don’t Shine twice a day for four weeks. 31 people, aged between 13 and 35, with oily and blemish-prone skin, participated.
Top tip.
If you can, apply Glow Don’t Shine and then wait 5-10 minutes so it can settle on the skin before you apply moisturiser, sunscreen, makeup or whatever else you use.
Key active ingredients.
Pumpkin Seed Oil. Pumpkin is naturally rich in lots of fatty acids and antioxidants which are good for our skin. It’s mainly made up of linoleic acid (otherwise known as omega 6) which helps the skin trap in moisture and other nutrients. It’s also rich in Vitamin E, an antioxidant which helps to protect your skin from the damage caused by daily life.
Rosemary Oil.* This essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties which can help calm skin - especially helpful for breakouts.
Peppermint Oil.* With antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, peppermint oil can help fight the bacteria which lives naturally on our skin and can lead to inflamed blemishes. It’s also calming and anti-inflammatory, helping skin to heal.
Clary Sage Oil. An anti-inflammatory, to help skin heal and reduce the appearance of inflamed blemishes. It’s also been shown to reduce the amount of oil our skin naturally produces, helping to keep down the shine.
Chamomile. From the pretty chamomile plant, chamomile reduces sensitivity and inflammation to promote healing. It’s perfect for calming and soothing your skin.
Panthenol. Sometimes called Vitamin B5, Panthenol is a humectant (a moisturising ingredient that works by attracting and holding on to water) and can help our skin to heal. It soothes irritated and inflamed skin, helping it feel calmed.
* These are essential oils which, in high doses, can cause irritation or sensitivity in some people. This is quite rare and lots of products contain essential oils which most people use without any problems. You can get dispose of empty ones by:
Top tip. Hoard your empty capsules and then dissolve them together once a week. For capsules you’re using on-the-go, put empty ones back in your Stackable to bring home so they can be dissolved as well.
Really green beauty. The seaweed we use makes a great plant fertiliser. After you dissolve empty capsules, take the capsule-water mixture and pour it on your plants.

Made. Made in Italy.
Amount. Each capsule contains 0.31ml of serum. Each Home Jar contains 100 capsules.
Use. Don’t eat them. They’re for putting on your skin, not in your body.
Capsules can feel slippery when wet and can be trickier to twist open. This is because they are made from seaweed and designed to be biodegradable. We recommend opening the capsules with dry hands and away from water.
Storage. Store in a cool, dry place, and out of direct sunlight.
Jars. Your Glow Don’t Shine Home Jar should last you for life. When you run out of Glow Don’t Shine capsules, you can buy a Glow Don’t Shine Refill (in a fully compostable bag) and tip them into your Home Jar. No more packaging waste needed. If you don’t want your Home Jar anymore it is fully recyclable, so please recycle it.
