Retinoids, are one of the few ingredients used in skincare that have been repeatedly proven to work. Dermatological studies show that they work wonders to reverse the signs of ageing and are a key ingredient to fight blemishes (they’re so effective that doctors prescribe retinoids to treat acne). Retinoids work by doing a few different things.
Don’t worry. If you’re new to using retinol, you might experience some tingling sensations, redness or dry skin. The good news is that these side effects should be temporary and normally go away after a few weeks. If you experience severe discomfort or symptoms, you should stop using the retinoid and seek professional medical help. Retinoids can also make our skin more sensitive to the sun. If you can, avoid it; if you must be in the sun, make sure you’re wearing a broad spectrum sunscreen (although you should be doing this anyway…). Sun sensitivity should return to normal after a few months of use.
Ease in gently.Start off by using the retinol twice a week for a couple of weeks; then go to every other day for a few weeks; and finally every day. This should help your skin time to adapt to a Vitamin A. Remember, everyone’s skin is different: some of us might be able to use the product every day without any issues; others might take longer to build up tolerance. If you have any questions or concerns, drop us an email - [email protected].
Key active ingredients.

Vitamin A Game drops are made out of seaweed and are biodegradable.
You can dispose of empty ones by:
Top tip. Hoard your empty drops and then dissolve them together once a week. For drops you’re using on-the-go, put empty ones back in your Stackable to bring home so they can be dissolved as well.
Really green beauty. The seaweed we use makes a great plant fertiliser. After you dissolve empty drop, take the water mixture and pour it on your plants.

Made. Made in Italy.
Amount. Each drop contains 0.31ml of serum. Each Home Jar contains 100 drops.
Use. Don’t eat them. They’re for putting on your skin, not in your body.

Storage. Store in a cool, dry place, and out of direct sunlight.
Jars.Your Vitamin A Game Home Jar should last you for life. When you run out of Vitamin A Game drops, you can buy more Vitamin A Game drops in a fully compostable bag and tip them into your Home Jar. WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK.
"I’m a tad late to the retinol party having only just discovered this anti-aging elixir and I've had the perfect introduction with Bolt Beauty's Vitamin A serum capsules; each capsule has 0.15 per cent concentration of pure retinol and I’m told this is a good starter product for vitamin A novices like me. Since I started using these my skin has felt like velvet and my pigmentation seems to be fading. I have sensitive skin and have suffered none of the possible retinol side effects such as redness or dry patches. I love that Bolt is an eco-friendly beauty brand; these nifty, single-dose biodegradable capsules are made from sustainable seaweed and corn starch and dissolve in boiling water after use."
Marie-Louise Pumfrey, contributing writer
The single-use, dinky pods (made from biodegradable seaweed) are jam-packed with hardworking ingredients, served up in just the right dosage for a daily skin supercharge. We love Vitamin A Game to brighten and plump skin with 0.15% retinol and Vitamin E.
